FlashForward co-creator David Goyer is stepping down from running the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
Co-creator David Goyer is stepping down from his role running the series, sources confirmed.
The “Dark Knight” scribe will still be “involved” with the show, but will focus on feature films and directing.
Who will serve as the new showrunner for “FlashForward” is not yet clear, yet the position is becoming a bit like drumming for Spinal Tap. The production is currently shooting episodes 17 and 18 of a 23-hour order.
UPDATE: Statement from Goyer: “As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions. I’m proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It’s in great hands.”
ABC have released a new promo for FlashForward. As promos go this one looks pretty promising (albeit slightly forced - thanks Mark Benford). Let’s hope the show can find its stride in the second half of the season.
FlashForward returns with all new episodes on March 18th.
Yesterday we posted tidbits from FlashForward co-creator David Goyer on what we can expect in the second half of the season, once the show returns from its winter hibernation. Now we have even more information on what is coming, including – more on the Suspect Zero reveal, the role of freewill vs predeterminism, a shocking surprise for Janis Hawk and more.

FlashForward co-creator David Goyer recently revealed to SciFi Wire that he has held talks with ABC about the possibility of a second season for the show. Goyer confirms that the producers have a plan for in place for season 2 and that they’re waiting for the network to make a decision over whether or not to renew.
In a recent interview, FlashForward producer David Goyer spoke about the answers that are coming our way (including the Suspect Zero reveal) once the show returns from its mid-season break on March 18th.
Head below the jump to see what he had to say on the matter (mild spoilers).
ABC have announced that FlashForward’s return from winter hibernation has been pushed back by a couple of weeks – from the originally slated March 4th to March 18th. The rescheduling is due to American Idol, which will now air on March 4th and March 11th.
The March 18th return will now be a two hour bumper episode, as will the season finale on May 27. FlashForward will also run uninterrupted (or so they say) all the way to the finale, upon its return.
A few weeks back we brought you news of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s decision to release FlashForward season 1, part 1 (first 10 episodes) to DVD on February 23rd. We were initially surprised by the decision to release the first 10 episodes as a package, but many of you who voted in our poll said you’d consider making the purchase, so clearly it’s a worthwhile move from the powers that be. If I recall correctly, LOST had a similar part 1/ part 2 DVD release (in certain regions) during its early days.
Anyway, ABC/Walt Disney have released the artwork for the DVD package, which you can see above. My first opinion is that it’s pretty uninspired. They’ve basically slapped the promotional poster on the cover and had done with it. There’s nothing intriguing about, and to be honest, I expected a bit more effort. That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if they update the cover art before the release date. I guess the main juice is in the DVD content. I can’t say the show has met my expectations (so far), but I can see why this package might be an attractive option as there’s some potential in there, somewhere.
ABC have released a FlashForward “Starter Kit”, giving us a run-down of all the important stuff we’re supposed to know about the first 10 episodes of FlashForward. It’s a decent recap, I guess. Probably more suited to those who are new to the show (hence “starter kit”) or those who missed a few episodes along the way. Let’s hope the second half of the season kicks the show into gear.
FlashForward returns with the second half of the season in March on ABC.
I’d like to wish FFB readers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks to everyone who has read, commented, tweeted, linked and voted in our polls! I think it’s fair to say that FlashForward has potential but lacked some key ingredients in 2009 – but like all of you, I’m looking forward to an improved show in 2010!
According to DVDTimes, Walt Disney Studios will be releasing the Region 1 DVD of FlashForward Volume 1 on February 23rd, 2010. That’s “volume 1″, as in the first 10 episodes of the season that have already broadcast. The release will be 1 week before the show returns from its mid-season break on March 4th, 2010.
It does seem a bit early for a FlashForward DVD, I must say. Especially when you consider how long fans of other shows have to wait. Sometimes the wait is a good thing, it builds up a sense of anticipation and is usually the icing on top of the cake, so to speak.
