FlashForward returns to ABC tonight after a 3 month hiatus. To be honest, the previous 10 episodes are a bit of a blur (although the What Did You See? Recap show did help to refresh) – not much really resonated with me. Sure, there were a couple of outstanding moments (Al Gough’s leap of faith, most things Simon-related, and the introduction of Keiko), but for 10 episodes worth of entertainment, the powers that be must know that they fell short of fan expectations.

That said, FlashForward returns tonight with the brand new Revelation Zero – Parts 1 & 2. It’s the first of what you suspect will be a clutch of final chances for the show to turn things around and rise from the mediocre standards it set itself in 2009. As I’ve said previously, I’m more than willing to give the show a clean slate – I’d say that 5 or 6 episodes will be enough for me to make up my mind as to whether FlashForward is really worth investing my time in. Fingers crossed.

One of the most pertinent questions left hanging from the first half of the season was the idea that Demitri Noh is going to get killed by Mark Benford. Here’s what John Cho had to say on that front:

“I know whether Dmitri dies or not,” Cho said. “That’s being addressed in a very clear way.”

Cho added: “It’s very, very thrilling. It’s a very thrilling episode. And, yeah, and satisfactory. … I’ll just say this: There are … some twists and turns that, I thought I knew a few things, but apparently I did not.”

I guess we better watch to find out.

FlashForward returns tonight with Revelation Zero Parts 1 & 2 on ABC.

OK, let’s get straight to the point. You know that FlashForward returns with brand new episodes from March 18th, right? Good. No let’s have a look at some of the recent tidbits that have gone down in the past few days. Including, hints on some of the “answers” that we can expect to receive in the remaining 12 episodes of the season, details on a BSG alum’s upcoming arc, information on some well known guest stars who will be making their FlashForward debuts in the all too near future, and more.

FlashForward executive producer Jessika Borsiczky has promised answers, answers and more answers are coming down the pipe upon FlashForward’s return, including whether or not Demitri will meet his maker as predicted:

“The first date we have to deal with when we get back, though, is the March 15th date, when Demetri’s found out he’s going to be murdered.

She also offered further tidbits:

• Does the future come true? “The really exciting thing is that by the end of the season we will find out whether everyone’s future has happened. Have they been able to avert it, did they try and avert it and by the act of averting it make it happen?” Borsiczky said.

• Does Bryce (Zachary Knighton) find Keiko? “We’re going to find out about Bryce and Keiko, whether he’ll be able to ever find his Japanese love.

• Who’s behind it? “It’s going to be all laid out. And I have to say, we’re in the middle of working on that episode, and it’s so much fun just to get to finally tie up those things from the pilot. The things we had talked about when we were making the pilot, that we couldn’t wait to get to—we’re finally here.”

• What caused the blackout? “There are some bigger questions to the show that will be ongoing. But we’re going to get a lot more information about the cause of the blackout,” she added.

• Who is Suspect Zero? “We’re going to find out who the man or woman [who was] awake in the stands was on the day of the blackout.”

• Does Olivia (Sonya Walger) wind up with Lloyd (Jack Davenport) or Mark (Joseph Fiennes)? “We’re going to see the relationship between Mark and Olivia, and Olivia and Lloyd, take its course, and whether they arrive at their … destiny.”

I’m glad that the pacing of the show looks set to be addressed, although answers are worth squat if the layering and story-building isn’t authentic, and, well…good. Hopefully the second half of the season will live up to expectations – if it does, I think all will be forgiven as far as the first 10 episodes go.

In other news, more details have been unearthed on James Callis‘ role on the show. He will play a mysterious man named Gabriel McDow, and, as we mentioned, will have an influence on Olivia’s arc. Apparently, he has suffered multiple flash-forwards, which I’m assuming ties into the multiple reality concept that was alluded to during the first half of the season. If this is the case it will surely present some interesting possibilities for our characters (not to mention the wider implications) – how will they react if they truly believe that fate is not a fixed mechanism? Anyway, let’s not get too carried away just yet. But I am rather looking forward to Callis’ arrival on the show – should spice things up a little bit.

Speaking on arrivals on the show – we already told you that Timbaland, or “Timbo”, if you will, is set to appear in the March 25th episode, titled “Blowback”. We’re also hearing that Seth MacFarlane will be back for more, and X-Files alum, Annabeth Gish, will also turn up in an episode.
